Summary
An individual at the Arc of Monroe County would like a way to communicate with others. This individual can hear and understand others, and has normal vision, but is unable to speak. The Arc has requested a picture-based communication board that will allow this individual to touch graphic elements on a screen or keyboard to construct simple sentences or phrases. The device will either display the sentence or speak the sentence for the individual.

Mission Statement
This project will be initiated during the Fall Quarter, 2006-1, with two other projects from the Assistive Devices family of projects in the Assistive Devices and Bioengineering Track. All three projects share a focus of providing a robust, configurable and easy to manipulate, embedded processor based user interface that will facilitate the activities of individuals with a particular physical challenge.| Project | Title | Start Term | End Term |
|---|---|---|---|
| P07000 | Assistive Devices and Bioengineering Track | 2006-1 | On-going |
| P07002 | Two way communication board | 2006-1 | 2006-2 |
| P07003 | Mobile Camera Control System | 2006-1 | 2006-2 |
| P07004 | Mobile Camera Positioning Platform | 2006-2 | 2006-3 |
Project Readiness Package
The Project Readiness Page documents customer needs and expectations, project deliverables (including time frame), budget, and personnel / organizations affiliated with the project. It will serve as the primary source of information for students necessary during Phase 0 (Planning) to develop a SD I plan and schedule including specific deliverables and due dates. The Project Readiness Package will also support Faculty evaluation of project suitability in terms of depth, scope, and student / faculty resources by discipline.General Project Uploads
