The WE @ RIT (Women in Engineering) Organization maintains and supports the TEAK (Traveling Engineering Activity Kits) Program. Traveling Engineering Activity Kits are designed and developed by RIT students to utilize creative and interactive tools to teach and expose students in the surrounding Rochester community about engineering concepts and fundamentals. The focus and objective of this TEAK Program is the Development of four engineering activity kits that will allow students to utilize creative learning tools to learn and discuss engineering topics related to sound and music. In addition to this, each kit will contain a detailed lesson plan pertaining to that individual TEAK Kits' focus. Lessons plans will offer teachers in the surrounding Rochester community the ability to instruct and teach their students the concepts of each TEAK kit without an Engineer being present. As these kits will be used by many students in the surrounding communities around R.I.T, it will be important for these kits to be safe, portable, and durable.
