12:00-1:00 (Xerox Aud.): Overiew of Fatigue Modeling Techniques (B. DeBartolo). Topics will include varying loads, design for infinite life (high cycle fatigue), short life (large deflection or low cycle fatigue), and resources available for finding or estimating fatigue properties of materials. If time and interest exist, the seminar can also include a review of fatigue topics covered in Design of Machine Elements.

2:00-3:00 (Xerox Aud.): Overview of Reliability (P. Reddy). Topics will include factors affecting reliability, reliability predictions, parts selection, reliability procedures & testing, failure modes & effects analysis, reliability testing and burn-in, and systems issues.
