The goal of this project is to develop and implement a concept system incorporating GPS technology,
wireless communication, micro-processing, programming, and mechanical design to perform an autonomous
function on a chosen test vehicle. Our design consists of an on-board and base-station subsystem, with
a graphical user interface at the base-station laptop. The function to be performed is to drop a payload
at a user-specified location. Surveillance is also a function incorporated into this project by
integrating a small video camera, transmitter and power into the payload that is being dropped. The
development of these technologies is an integral part of the advancement of MAV (micro air vehicle)
technology at RIT.
