This project studies the process of building and testing large gear
reducers that are a component of industrial mixers produced in
Rochester, NY by Lightnin SPX. The manufacturing process had been found
to contain many inefficiencies, which the design team worked to improve
upon, with the ultimate goal of removing non-value added time from the
process in order to reduce cycle time.
Specific time, space, and budgetary constraints were adhered to as the
team aimed to accomplish its goals.
