Develop a list specific design specifications for the panel box.

Research material options for box fabrication.

Begin concept generation of light panel box and mounting options.

ME Student 2 Research LED lighting technologies and issues.

Research different options for the design of lights, which may include CAD add-on, freestanding light analysis software, analytical or other numerical models. Prepare a short presentation for the team describing options for tools to design the light panel.

Research currently available LED panels on the market for area lighting.

Identify any specific needs such as equipment, software, or space that you may need for your tasks.

Define engineering specifications for the lighting requirements.

Research scientific literature and web on alternative lighting systems with a focus on the lighting design.

Begin brainstorming concepts for overall lighting system design in partnership with rest of the LED panel sub team.

Decide on approach/tool for lighting design.

Research specifications of available LEDs including range of pricing, spectrum, and lighting patterns.

Propose LED samples for purchase and preliminary testing.
