Step 1. Develop Technical Models of the Project
Technical models of the product have been focused on during presentations throughout the following documents:
Step 2. Develop a Cost Model of the Project
The Bill of Materials shown is all parts, components, and services that have been identified in the designs developed for the Compressor Installation, Revamp, and Interface.
Step 3. Refine the Specifications, Making Tradeoffs Where Necessary
The following link provides a finalized set of relationships between the determined customer needs and the targeted engineering specifications.
Step 4. Reflect on the Results and the Process
The process of specification setting has undergone several steps from original concepts to final design determinations, and changes have been based upon the extremely beneficial and continual communication that has been open between Dresser-Rand representatives and the student team. The bi-weekly reviews have allowed the team to process discussions with the customers at Dresser-Rand, to conduct design calculations and testing procedures, and then to present again the results to ensure that both parties were continually updated with similar understandings of the project. The QFD table provided in the link above is a culmination of these results.
