Staffing Requirements

The purpose of this page is to establish the staffing requirements. This page covers the discipline, roll and skills of the project staff. The staffing requirements for the project are summarized in the table below. See the Preliminary Work Breakdown Structure for task details and scheduling. This page was used primarily for DPM and only marks a starting point for Senior Design.

Mr. George Slack Electrical Engineering Faculty Guide Will work closely with the team on an on-going basis to facilitate success. The expertise of this professor is general electrical engineering.
Dr. Marca Lam Mechanical Engineering Faculty Consultant Will provide discipline technical support on an intermittent basis. The expertise of this professor is vibrations.
Dr. Margaret Bailey Mechanical Engineering Faculty Consultant Will provide discipline technical support on an intermittent basis. The expertise of this professor is thermodynamics.
Chuck Moon Controls and Power Electrons Customer Will provide assistance in the development of the product.
Scott Reardon Project Manager Customer Will provide assistance in the development of the product.
Anthony Berwin Mechanical Engineer 1 Project Manager Responsible for planning group activities, conducting meetings, project documentation and weekly project objectives. Will ensure project objectives are completed on time and within the budget. Responsible for maintaining contact with project customers, stakeholders, the faculty guide and the project team. Will assist other team members with the design process and selecting required parts. Responsible for reviewing and approving product designs and approving orders for parts. Requires communication, leadership, planning, presentation and organizational skills. Requires an understanding in mechanical, electrical and systems engineering.
Greg Pawlowski Electrical Engineer 1 Electronics Engineer Responsible for design of the printed circuit board used in the master and slaves. Responsible for the circuit design, analysis and documentation. Responsible for component research and selection for the printed circuit board. Responsible for the drawing and assembly of electrical components. Responsible for the electrical drawing package and the bill of materials. Required to have an understanding of electronics, electric circuits, circuit drafting and modeling. Required to have print circuit board experience. Requires communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
Sarmad Adedin Electrical Engineer 2 Control System Engineer Responsible for design of the system model and control system. Responsible for the control system programming, simulation, testing, debugging and documentation. Responsible for the system level design of the product. Required to have an understanding of system modeling, control systems and programming. Requires communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
John Scipione Electrical Engineer 3 Communications Engineer Responsible for design of the communication system between the master and slaves. Responsible for the communications and sensor design, analysis, testing, integration and documentation. Responsible for component research and selection for the communications and power subsystems. Required to have an understanding of electronics, electric circuits, communications and control systems. Requires communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
Scott Rioux Industrial & Systems Engineer Project Engineer Responsible for project integration, documentation and systems testing. With assistance from team members, responsible for the work breakdown structure, product specifications and concept development. Will assist other team members with the design, documentation and integration processes and selecting required parts. Responsible for the feasibility and risk analysis. Responsible for integrating subsystem designs and ordering parts. Responsible for the project plan, test plan and assembly plan for MSD II. Responsible for designing, conducting and analyzing test data. Requires communication, planning, integration and organizational skills. Requires an understanding in industrial and systems engineering and statistics.
