Automatic Shifting will read the RPM and throttle position (TPS) from the engine sensor to determine the need for a shift. When a shift is needed the controller will execute a spark cutout and actuate the shift solenoid for either a push or pull for up or down shift depending on the conditions.
Button shifting will send inputs from the user using up and down shift buttons and the controller will determine if the shift can be executed based on safe RPM and TPS relationships. If the shift can be executed that the controller will execute the same spark cutout and shift actuation.
For manual shifting the user can shift as they would regularly and the function of the controller would be only to keep count of what gear the transmission is in in order to continue automatic shifting at certain points depending on gear.
