Team Values & Norms

Team Values

Punctual
Team Members will arrive on time for all meetings. A 10 minute grace period will be allowed until phone calls are made. An exception to this rule is to let the project manager know beforehand that you will not be able to attend. Each exception will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Thorough
Each team member will complete their tasks thoroughly, completely and on time, so that the work does not have to be re-done by a peer on the team. If assistance is needed, each member is responsible for seeking out their own with anyone capable of doing so.
Accurate
Each team member is accountable for their work and must be able to prove to the satisfaction of all to whom it matters why their work is accurate. This means background research, data, analysis, etc.
Professional and Ethical
In keeping with the transparency of the "Accurate" value, members must cite all sources whether it be a person or a paper. Additionally, right and wrong concept implementation must be held to the highest standard and required of all members.
Demonstrates the core RIT values of SPIRIT.
Committed
Each member will be evaluated on their level of commitment. This is a separate value from accurate because all work must be completed to the best of the assigned member's capability. Commitment is determined by the effort that each member applies to their assigned tasks.

Peer Assessment Form

Every team member should complete a peer assessment form periodically. The member names fill in the rows along the left, and the Values in the columns across the top. Write the Norms of performance in each entry of the matrix. Again, there are other ways of doing this (eg. Grading Rubric peer assessment).
