Aerial Imaging Overlay
Using Google Earth and the images captured by UAV Airframe C in flight, we are able to demonstrate one potential use for the pictures captured during missions. Each image taken during flight was overlapped and integrated onto the satellite image of the flying field provided by the Google Earth software. This allows for the creation of both a flight path profile and a high quality terrain map.
It should be noted that for this concept, the camera used was a Cannon Powershot SD1100 that was remotely activated by a servo switch. Once the autonomous software and aerial camera are integrated with the UAV C Airframe, higher quality images are possible as well as creating flight paths more conducive to terrain mapping.
