P11462: Thermoelectric and Fan System for Cook Stove
/public/

Select Product Concept(s)

The product concept was developed through two stages. First, the means were compared within each function. The most appropriate means were selected for each function. For those functions with only one means this comparison was ignored. Next, several different combinations of these means were compared and the most feasible concept was selected. A Pugh comparison method was used. All items are compared to a datum. The datum selected represented the current setup of the thermoelectric fan system.

Once we had decided to enclose the components we realized two locations existed where we could locate the enclosure: under the cook stove or attached to the side of the cook stove. We decided to perform a Pugh comparison analysis on the two different locations.

Having decided that the side mount would be more appropriate we performed a Pugh comparison on different means to side mount the system.

Using the results from the functional Pugh comparisons several concepts were generated. These concepts combined the various means that the Pugh comparisons highlighted.
