Project Summary Project Information

This senior design project team was given the task of designing a system which can control clusters of LEDs placed in various locations on a hemisphere in order to test the reflectance, and possibly transmittance, of various materials for the Center of Imaging Science. The overall objectives of this project are to:

  • Design a hemisphere containing mounting points for multiple LED clusters.
  • Design clusters of LEDs in order to project light in the visible spectrum, as well as in the IR and UV spectrums.
  • Design a computer-based control system in order to selectively address each LED within a particular cluster.
