# Initial Geometric Analysis

## Peak to Peak Analysis Intro

With the data the measurement system will obtain it should be easy to identify where peaks and valleys are from the measured data. If two peaks can be found, the distance between them can be found by just subtracting the two x axis measurements associated with each peak. This creates one "wave" where the depth or "Y" values can be calculated at any point on the wave using basic geometric and trigonometric formulas.

## Specifications and Tolerances

The depth calculation is based off four key specifications; Radius 1(lower Radius), Radius 2(Upper Radius), Depth, Angle. Many of these specfiations have a tolerance. This allows the creation of upper and lower bound on the calculated depth values in each section of the "wave".

## Slope/Angle/Depth Calculation

By using Excel to analyze the data it is possible to pick apart the data to find all the peaks and valleys. From this the slope/angle and depth can be calculated.
