P11711: Wegmans - Bakery Data Collection

Project Summary Project Information

Project Background

Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Wegmans is a family-owned company, founded in 1916 by the Wegman family. Danny Wegman is CEO, and Colleen, his daughter, is president. There are 75 Wegmans stores, to which the Central Bakery Facility, is the main bread provider. The objective of the 11711 project is to design, build, and install a portable system that will help monitor the overall equipment effectiveness at their central bakery. The company has a good understanding of what goes in as raw materials and what comes out as finished product but they lack the basic data to calculate and measure performance statistics of the various lines and machines.
