Fitting Session

The first fitting session for Richard Ramos will be completed during the first two weeks back from Christmas break. It will be imperative that we utilize our time will Richard as efficiently as possible as he will only be available for a single day at most. The fitting session as well as any desired testing involving Richard should be completed that one day.

The following video depicts the first fitting session where Richard is being measured and provides feedback to implement for the system development.

A second fitting session for Richard Ramos will be completed within the first two weeks of February to assess the accuracy of the design and gather feedback to implement before final delivery. This session will also serve as a final demo before delivery.

The following video depicts the second fitting session where Richard provides final feedback to implement for the system development.

The fitting sessions for the Sonar boat will be completed during the Winter quarter to successfully design the system to fit the boat.

Modeling of the New System

The New System CAD models has been created as per customer and sponsor request. The model has been created with SolidWorks 2011 and the system is modeled as multiple sub-assemblies that are combined into one fully integrated assembly. The Tiller Strut is not included in the assembly since that sub-components is attached to the system via ropes and does not have any other physical connection to the rest of the system. All parts involved with the system are included in the zip file. The seat has also been modeled but simplified to serve a generic purpose for reference.

The following files are the CAD models for the different sub-components: Passenger Interface, Track Platform, Tiller Strut, and Pedestal Base.

Part Drawings

Parts drawing packages has been created for each of the sub-components. Part drawing packages include: Pedestal Base, Track Platform, Passenger Interface Support Frame, Passenger Interface Crank System, Passenger Interface Hand Grips, and Tiller Strut. The tiller is not include as it is a custom straight tiller that is dependent on the preference of the user.

Bill of Materials

A Bill of Materials for Purchased Parts has been created for reference of required purchase parts to construct the prototype system from scratch. Please reference the Part Drawings for the metal stock and wood required for the construction of the system, such stock material was not included in this BOM excel sheet.

Manufacturing and Assembly Plan

Detailed manufacturing plans have been created for each of the sub-components: Pedestal Base, Track Platform, Passenger Interface, and Tiller Strut.

Overall system integration will be completed iteratively through sub-component system assembly, overall system assembly, fitting sessions, and debugging sessions.

Test Plans

An in-depth Test Plan has been created to test the functionality and performance of the prototype system. The test plan will verify or evaluate the system on whether it meets the customer needs and engineering specifications.Excel Test Plan also shows the relationship between the Test Plan, Engineering Specification, and Customer Needs directly.

Test Results

The in-depth Test Plan Results have been accumulated for the prototype system. The test results evaluate the system on whether it meets the engineering specifications created to satisfy the customer needs. The Excel of Test Plan Results also shows whether the Test Plan Results meet the Engineering Specification.
