The overall goal of this project is to improve
Wegmans' marble cake swirling process by designing
and building an automated machine for this process.
The swirl pattern is currently made manually at a
high cost. Since the production line is used to
make several varieties of cakes, the machine will
need to be portable and support varying pan sizes.
The project is aimed to deliver a cake swirling
machine that reduces Wegmans' production costs,
improves the ergonomics of the production line and
offers a long service life.
