Prior research has been performed and documented in the following document: Project Readiness Package For an updated Project Description, please see the 1-Page Project Summary The goal of the Jib Transfer Bench team is to design, build, test, and implement a device that allows the disabled community to experience the thrill of sailing by giving them advantages in motion that able-bodied sailors take for granted. We hope to design a device that allows the Jib Trimmer to fully be able to perform their task while sailing recreationally and in competition The design will be both support and protect the Jib Trimmer, and will be implemented in several boats, and has the potential for market pentration as a feasible market product. Please also see our Sister Team, P13032, who is also working on an Adaptive Sailing fixture. With them, we share resources and knowledge, but also must work closely with them regarding space constraints. |
