Project Summary

Project Information
|
In the Wegmans Bake Shop, trays containing finished
products are stacked by hand upon a dolly for
transport. This task consists of a constant manual
lifting task. Wegmans identified that a component
of this task was a repetitive bending and stacking
motion of the operator. Wegmans saw this as an area
that could be improved. The idea behind this was to
somehow eliminate this repetitive bend through a
device that kept height of the stack of trays at
waist level, thereby eliminating the bending and
improving ergonomics. The method of accomplishing
this was left to the senior design team.
