Welcome to the homepage for multi-disciplinary senior design team P15310! For a project description from the customer, click on the following link for the Project Readiness Package. From the project description above, a team of multidisciplinary students from computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering were assembled together to tackle the challenges defined by the customer. Summarizing the project description, our customer, Spectracom Corporation, has developed a new and state-of-the-art positioning and navigation module, the Geo-PNT (pictured below). The Geo-PNT is typically used in applications that require a precise and accurate navigation data with an accurate time reference from GPS signal. In relation to our project, Spectracom has asked our team to come up with a solution to demonstrate the capabilities of the Geo-PNT. Their ultimate end-goal for our team is to create an informative video showing our solution (system) utilizing the Geo-PNT. After careful planning and considerations, our team decided to use a camera tracking system that will use data from the Geo-PNT to maintain a locked view on a set of GPS coordinates. In simple terms, the Geo-PNT's positional navigation data will control a video cam recorder to stay locked on a target (given by a set of GPS coordinates) as it moves around (attached to a vehicle). This website documents our progress towards achieving our end goal, and the various stages of development along the way. |
