Team Vision for Final Demo and Handoff

During this phase, the team was mainly concentrated on ensuring a successful demonstration at Imagine RIT. Additionally, the team started gathering the final documentation for the people mover while also verifying the mover's functionality to the engineering requirements established in the first semester. Some of the items that were worked on during this phase were object avoidance, path planning and following, along with localization using the cart's odometry. At the end of the phase, the team was successful in demonstrating an autonomous people mover that was capable of taking in a learned path while detecting and avoiding static obstacles.

Test Results Summary

The final result of the people mover performed well against the engineering requirements set out to meet in the beginning of the semester. The results can be seen in the picture below.

Plans for Wrap-up

For the remaining of the semester, the team plans to put the finishing touches on all of the documentation including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, software, etc. Furthermore, the team will create a theory of operations document in order to give the next team a grasp on how the cart functions. Lastly, the team will create videos demonstrating how the subsystems work along with helpful how-to videos.
