At the end of the last review we thought we were in good shape to move forward and were ready for testing; however, we soon ran into some trouble. Not only did we need to run through a bunch of testing this phase, but we needed to solve some critical issues before we could get started.

Even with all of these issues, we were able to overcome several of them. We were able to complete all of our preliminary tests, and set ourselves up for success immediately following Spring Break.

Preliminary Testing

Step One: Find a New Way To Test

Instead of using the tensile/compression tester, we decided to use weights from RIT's fitness center. After requesting to use their facilities, the associate director of recreation, Jennifer Lewis, allowed us to use her facilities.

Step Two: Rewrite the Test Plans

As we changed the way we did the testing, we needed to change the test plan. The new test plan was is available here: Test Plan

Step Three: Create Testing Components

In order to make sure that the weights would easily be held in place, we needed to make a stand for them to rest on. Using some scrap metal from the shop, we were able to create this!

Step Four: Test

Jennifer Lewis and our team agreed that we can use the facilities on 3/11/16, 3/15/16, and 3/16/16.
