Goals for Week 12

Beta

  1. Complete initial Beta build. (In Process)
  2. Start Beta testing (Start with non control algorithm dependent tests, continue to control algorithm tests if enough progress is made) (In Process)
  3. Adjust control algorithm to function with 4 Electromagnets and 2 9DOFS (and either temp sensors or stretch sensors)

Alpha Testing

  1. Finish Engineering Requirements Testing.
  2. Do Stretch Sensors add enough feedback to justify not using temperature sensors? (Complete)

Logistical

  1. Create a live 3-D printing schedule to ensure constant printing. (Complete)
  2. Establish another meeting time that entire team is present. (Complete)

Imagine

  1. Where can we get a mannequin hand for display? (Complete)
  2. What type of fixtures do we need to demonstrate key subsystems of device? (Complete)

Paper Work

  1. Break paper down into sub-sub sections and assign each team member a sub-section. (Complete)
  2. Create soft deadlines for completion of sub-sections. (In Process)

Mosfet cover

The Mosfet cover was printed to protect the electronics from impacts as well as protect the user from any potential sharp edges.
Wire Guide

Wire Guide

The wire guide was created to prevent and lateral torque on the brake pad. If the wire was to pull at an angle there would be a risk of the brake pad catching on the wall of the brake chassis.
Inner Brake

Inner Brake

The inner workings of the brake system.
  1. Towards the front, the wire is being guided out the middle of the entrance.
  2. The springs are holding the brake pad off of the brake chassis. Once the top section is attached, the brake pad will be held against the magnet.
  3. In the back the rubber band is coiled specifically to provide return force on the brake pad without severely restricting the motion of the hand.
