Electrical Draft 1

Our power supply uses both a high current (top) side and a high voltage (bottom) side. The high voltage circuit initiates the arc using an ignition coil, and the arc is sustained by the high current side. public/PowerSupply.png The high current side of the design uses a full wave rectifier, and we can decide to double the voltage with a modification of the circuit. A power resistor (R4 in each schematic) is also used. Below is the simulated output of the voltage doubler circuit, with a 120 V source, and a power resistor of 40 ohms. The current and power values oscillate over time. public/HighCurrentSim2.png Below is a table using different power resistor values for each circuit, using the average value of each measurement. public/HighCurrentData.PNG
