This team does not need to worry about intellectual property issues, as stated by the customer, Dr. Dorin Patru.

Team Setup

Steven Giewont

Steven is pursuing a BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering and concentrating his research in robotics. He is the Lead Controls Engineer for the team and in charge of integration between the HABIP-DAQCS and HABIP-COMMS team. He has a strong background in embedded systems design and robotic systems. In the past, he worked at GE Aviation, Universal Instruments, Disney Imagineering and IBM. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and exploring new entrepreneurial ideas.

Lincoln Glauser

Lincoln is pursuing a BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering with his research focus in digital hardware design. He is the Lead Embedded Engineer for the team and in charge of the final user guide creation for both the HABIP-DAQCS and HABIP-COMMS team. He has a strong background in embedded systems design and will gain experience in PCB design this semester through EE789 - High-Speed Digital & Mixed Signal PCB Design. In the past, he has worked at Diversified Control Inc, GE Transportation, Rockwell Automation and Intel. In his free time, he likes to play sports and likes the outdoors.

Sydney Kaminski

Sydney is a BS/MEng Mechanical Engineering student, concentrating her research and Master's degree in controls systems. She is the project manager for the HABIP-DAQCS and in charge of keeping both the DAQCS and the COMMS teams remain within the weight limit specified by the FAA. She has a background in CAD design, controls systems, GD&T, and machining. She has worked previously at Moog as a product engineer, a tool designer, and an advanced manfacturing engineer. In her free time, she likes to ski and go hiking.

Chris Schwab

Chris is pursuing a BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a research focus in digital and embedded systems hardware/software design. He is the Lead Hardware Engineer for the team and is in charge of the Power Systems Management and Documentation for both the HABIP-DAQCS and HABIP-COMMS teams. Previous employment includes co-ops at Tilera Corporation (now Mellanox), Critical Link LCC, and most recently Apple Inc. In his free time he competes on RIT's Cross Country Team, aids RIT's EE department as a teaching assistant, and enjoys any outdoor activity.
