Team Vision for Integrated System Build & Test Phase
- During this phase we wanted to finalize control system testing with our small test drone and integrate our control system with the DJI S1000. We also wanted to finalize the gimbal design and assemble our design with water-jetted carbon fiber parts.
- We did as much flight testing as possible with the small drone and will be now reusing the flight controller to manage all our devices while using the DJI flight controller to run the drone. All of the parts for the gimbal were cut and assembled as planned.
- The software for capturing thermal video and copying Tetracam data to a mass storage device was tested extensively. We were able to capture thermal video and infrared images from the Tetracam with the software running on the Raspberry Pi. The next step is to test sending a signal "over-the-air" to the PixHawk flight controller which will then trigger a data capture via a GPIO connection with the Raspberry Pi.

Plans for next phase
As a team we would like to show our customer in three weeks images from an actual flight with the S1000 drone. We would also like to have a video of the drone flying in the field and the gimbal operating correctly with it.
