MSD I: Action Items

The following are action items which were brought up in discussion during our Detailed Design Review at the end of Senior Design I. All items need to be completed at the beginning of Senior Design II, there status has been indicated.
  1. The following tasks are to be completed by Mike over break. - In Process
    • Talk to Al Sigl people about using the I beam
    • Talk to Al Sigl people about the mezzanine being anchored to the walls
  2. The following tasks are to be completed by the team during the first couple weeks of the semester.
    • Determine the best method of installation for the trolley and chain hoist on the I beam. - In Process
    • Email architecture list to Dr. DeBartolo for use by future teams. - Complete
    • Determine the benefits of using nails versus screws, possibility use a combination of both. - Complete
    • How is the platform being anchored and will outside columns (not near walls) need to be anchored as well? (ie if golf cart runs into column) - Complete
    • Determine if a permit is needed for the platform and if it will need to be fire proof. - In Process
    • Design the bike carriers, taking into consideration trailer usage as well. - In Process
    • Create a side view of the layout to show differences in elevation. - Complete
    • Determine the best place to order maintenance ladders from, closer to Rochester is better due to extreme shipping costs. - In Process
    • Email and set up a meeting with RIT professor with large knowledge of cement walls. - Complete

  1. SportsNet Safety Grant
    • Submitted all relevant information to Mike and received approval
    • Asked: $1,600, Received: $1,600
  2. Brown Family Foundation Grant
    • Submitted to RIT contact and was denied approval
    • Asked: $1,500, Received: $0
  3. IEEE Standards Grant
    • Submitted application to IEEE and Dr. Debartolo submitted a statement of endorsement, notified the committee will be meeting Feb 20th and should hear shortly afterwards
    • Asked: $500
