Detailed Design

Vision for this phase

The purpose for this phase was to finish any designs that we had not completed in the past phase, and to source materials for our critical subsystems so we can start ordering right when we get back after the summer.

  • worked with Allison to choose servo with gearbox
  • paired remote controller with raspberry pi

  • chose add-ons being used with raspberry pi

  • made a test plan for battery life

  • made test plans for charging time and amount of force car can take

  • figured out how to power joystick and servo from battery

Carseat Mounting

Car seat securing system includes 80/20 framing for back support and U-hooks for the LATCH system.

Possible Modifications

The actual size of the base plate will likely be modified after we make a decision regarding the vehicle's outward appearance. This includes any plastic pieces we want to reattach to the car, and any additional bumpers we add.
