MSD I: Readiness to move to Build & Test

Expectations

Status Review

Current state of the project
Summary
The Angel's ARC team has performed very well, and maintains many documents that can be seen below. Most customer requirements (FOUND HERE) are being met with the designs purposed and any that are not being met have been discussed and have reasoning to support the decision. Most notably a seat for a parent or passenger is a customer requirement that may not be met depending on space available and the need for storage over additional seating. Below are links to live documents that will continue to be updated throughout the MSD process. These documents are important to the prototyping as well as the final deliverables to Honduras.

Prototype Bill of Materials

Prototyping bill of materials for supplies needed during MSDII in order to build a full scale model of the Angel's ARC vehicle. Items in yellow are estimates that must be refined.

Final Bill of Materials

Final bill of materials incorporating medical supplies, and building costs among other expenses for the fully functional Angel's ARC vehicle. The final iteration of this document will be delivered to Honduras as part of the final product package.

Test Plans The test plan for the NeoPuff modification has been created and used through a simulation by Austin Zuercher. Below is a view of the test plan he created, as well as the link to the live document that will be updated as needed.

The full Test Plan document includes a test plan flow chart, as well as data acquisition procedures and more information regarding the testing of the NeoPuff modification.

Additional test plans for other prototypes and original designs must be flushed out but some are outlined below:

Incubator Cart
Create the purposed incubator design in a CAD program such as SolidWorks and perform stress analysis.
Once the prototype is created in MSDII usability testing will be performed in a model that represents the confined space that it must function in.
Paramedic Chair
Design is still being created by Ankha Khosbayar and once created usability testing and stress analysis will also be performed
Electrical System
The electrical system is being designed by Gage Ellis. However with such a large electrical system being designed as a result of the large scale of the final project testing will be difficult. A way to prototype a large electrical system as a proof of concept is ideal but it is unknown as to how this will be done if possible at all.

The scope of our project has changed since the beginning of MSD I. Originally the ambulance was going to have to transport infants and their mothers from rural areas of Honduras, but that is no longer the case. Further into MSD I and with many meetings and a trip to Honduras the scope has become to get reliable transportation from a lower tier hospital to Hospital Escuela. Additionally, our schedule has been pushed back by the addition of modifying a NeoPuff unit which will need design iterations and testing, currently we are unsure as to whether or not the timeline allows for enough time to iterate and test a design. With the decision to make a full scale model, prototyping and designing as many things as possible and realistic our timeline has been changed to accommodate this as well as smaller scale models and possible virtual reality usability and user experience testing.

Our current risk assessment is more in depth then out original and continues to be updated as new design decisions are made. Most of our risks however can be closed out as we will not be able to fully prototype our system in the vehicle of choice. However, we did include mitigation plans as well as ways to avoid causing some risks.
