Micro-Pipette Box Filler To reduce costs in the lab, disposable micro-pipette tips are purchased in bulk and then manually loaded into a reusable box for use. The process of manually loading the micro-pipettes into reusable boxes is time consuming and risks human hands contamination with the tips which remarkably drops the accuracy and precision of biological experiments. To minimize current loading times, maintain current purchasing costs and prevent human contamination of the tips, a device will be developed to eliminate the manual process of loading tips into boxes. The device will need to operate with precision to limit rework and promote ease of use. The goals of this project are to analyze the current manual process and replicate steps with an automatic process. The expected end result is a functional prototype that will efficiently and effectively load multiple sizes of micro-pipette tips into boxes.
