Project Summary | Project Information |
---|---|
Precision Optical Transceivers is primarily concerned with delivering high quality optical transceivers to their customers quickly. An obstacle they are facing is uncertainty in the hardware portion of the testing process. The primary source of this uncertainty is optical attenuators. This uncertainty leads to time loss and lack of confidence in test results. The goal of the project is to build an automated test fixture that can verify the functionality of optical attenuators and optical fibers. This solution will reduce uncertainty of the testing process while minimizing the time spent troubleshooting the transceiver and ensure validity of the test results. The fixture will be easy to use by a technician and fit into the work environment on the production floor. |
