Robert Cybulski is a 5th year mechanical engineering student currently working toward bachelor of science and master of engineering degrees. He is very passionate about the amusement and themed entertainment industry and is excited to serve as the project lead for the Automatic Extend/Retract Hydraulic Restraint System for Amusement Rides team.
Outside of RIT, Robert has completed 5 internships and co-ops having worked at GE Transportation, Raymond Corp, Moog Inc, Universal Creative, and Great Coasters International. At Universal, he worked on the project team responsible for the upcoming Harry Potter themed roller coaster and learned how to successfully manage a major themed entertainment project. While at Great Coasters, Robert assisted in the assembly of multiple roller coaster trains and gained valuable manufacturing and assembly experience. Continuing his dream of working in the themed entertainment industry, Robert is excited to work at Premier Rides as an engineering intern this summer.
While not working, Robert is heavily involved in RIT’s Theme Park Enthusiast club which he helped found 3 years ago. He has served as president, treasurer, and secretary during the past couple years while also organizing and leading teams for the clubs annual Imagine RIT exhibit. Robert also participates in many of the club’s trips to industry events and competitions. He was a member of the 2016 award winning competition team that claimed first place in the Ryerson Thrill Design Competition and has attended multiple IAAPA Trade Shows and ASTM F24 Conferences. He is currently assisting the Restraints Task Group of ASTM F24 Committee on Amusement Rides and Devices.
Completely unrelated to amusement rides, Robert works as a tutor for RIT's Higher Education Opportunity Program, plays intramural broomball and ice hockey, and is an active member and volunteer of the RIT Newman Catholic Community.
