A functional test of the burger elevator's actuation system was completed on 2/18/18. This test verified that the elevator's actuation will be slide with minimal play, and translate at a speed of at least 1.25" in 10 seconds.

Grill Assembly Drawings and Assembly Documents

This subsystem utilizes a George Foreman grill as the method of cooking the burger, so of the three mechanical subsystems responsible for burger cooking, the grill subsystem has the lowest overall risk level. The primary focus during this phase has been the other subsystems. 3D printed parts have been fabricated, but other progress has not started yet.

Pick and Place System Assembly Drawings and Assembly Documents

This subsystem utilizes a carriage to house rollers that ride on an extruded aluminum rail to provide horizontal mobility while also containing a lead screw system to power vertical actuation for the vacuum system. A high priority in the design and fabrication of the carriage has been to reduce weight while m maintaining rigidity to reduce inertia and provide higher precision when placing ingredients. The carriage is constructed from aluminum while the prototype rollers are to be fabricated by filament extrusion additive manufacturing.

These subsystems provide power and control signals to all other subsystems, and coordinates their actions so as to allow the machine to function.

Due to issues that occurred during the testing of the stepper controllers, the electrical design has been modified. All Stepper controllers have been replaced by a circuit consisting of two H-Bridges configured as shown below.
