During the Integrated System Build and Test Phase, the group planned to deliver the following items:

The Relay integration document explains the process for testing the Relay integration with the Microcontroller. Each step is explained in detail to give a better understanding of the process and the results for the integration.

Battery Research

The Battery Research document contains the research performed for battery selection. Both 12V and 24V batteries were compared in terms of the cost, amp hours, and if the vendor is approved.

Shed Wiring

The previous shed diagram has been updated to reflect the current location of wiring, outlets and future locations of wires in order to send the diagram to FMS for the power project.

Raspberry Pi Code

To test how accurate the SHT_11 sensors were, they were tested simultaneously with the HOBO sensors used in the lab. While the HOBO sensor is not a calibrated sensor, using it as a baseline would quickly and easily confirm the rage of accuracy. The Sensor Validation Document shows the test setup and conclusions derived from the test data.

Finally, updates were made to the circuit schematic showing precise connection information relating to what GPIO pins were connected to the sensors and relays as shown below.

Larvae Collection Bin Calculations

Based on the calculations performed in the Larvae Collection Bin Logistics Document, it has been determined that the current designed collection bin is not large enough to accommodate the expected 25,000 larvae migrating per day.

In the next phase the team will work to design a larger collection bin.

In this phase we made progress with machining the final parts. Most of the brackets have been machined and all machining is aimed to be done this week.

Progress has been made in filling in the assembly plan and that will be finalized next phase following the completion of the assembly.

This phase we did not make as much progress as we planned on. This is because we were behind schedule in certain areas. The tests for week 9 highlighted in orange are tests we discussed with our guide and customer that may not be completed this semester due to project scope changes and lack of power in the shed. We will aim to try and test in an alternative environment or more clearly outline how to execute the test.

This phase we tested the cost of the composter and determined it will be within the desired range provided you order it from the cheapest supplier possible which we were not able to do with the restrictions of senior design. Test Plan Data Sheets.

Remaining tests will be completed next phase once the system is fully built and can be tested.

Problem Tracking

The group's problem tracking document has been updated to include the newest happenings related to obstacles in the project's progression. Most notably, the majority of issues faced by the electrical sub-team have been resolved (save for an issue with collecting and exporting data). This will allow the electrical team to continue with sensor validation and final delivery of other items. New considerations can be seen and expanded upon below in the updated document:

Risk Management

The team reviewed and updated the cumulative risk assessment that was first created in the Problem Definition phase of the project (and has been updated during every project phase thus far). Changes have been witnessed on several fronts but will not be updated until the full impact of these risk changes can be understood by the team administration.

As this phase progressed, it became aware to the group that risk RRS1 (lack of research/shed) has increased in value due to rising concern that the shed will not be completed within the initial timeframe. Work is being done to catch back up to speed and remain on track for the rest of the build. Risks RRS6 (budget limited) and RRS9 (unable to get/read CAD) have been mitigated as a result of receiving the IEEE Standards Grant and having a team member take ownership, and complete, the necessary CAD documentation updates. Risk RTC2 (design for manufacturing) has also been mitigated since the team has received SME approval of the design. Please see the above table for the most up-to-date risk considerations. Budget

The up to date Budget Maintenance and Purchase Plan documents can be viewed and it has been determined that we have spent $1,039.12 of the $1,850 available to the team.

The team also received an up to date budget log from the MSD Office and it showed that we are still within the $1,000 budget specifically from MSD and the IEEE grant.
