Previous Revision CAD models
Revision 1 A generic rectangular frame to support the components for the compression and mold systems.
Revision 2 An box to house the electrical components was added on the side.
- Drawbacks: Frame strength, electrical component placement
Revision 3 Corner braces were added on all corners withing the conpression area to limit the bending of the long side frame tubing. The car jack was rotated 90 degrees after testing the handle movement with a prototype. The electronics box was moved to the top of the system for easier accessibility and more practical wheels were used than the previous ones. Additional bolts to secure the electronics box were added.
- Drawbacks: Not enough support and mounting space for the car jack.
Revision 4 An extra tubing supported was added above the car jack to minimize bending of the frame.
- Drawbacks: Lack of plastic transition detail
Revision 5 The plastic transition components were expanded in detail. The trough was widened to accommodate the heating elements and can be seen below. A neck and sectioning plate were added between the heating trough and the mold. Some frame components shifted slightly to better support the heating trough.
- Drawbacks: Plastic melting capabilities within the heating trough
