Project Summary Project Information

Our senior design project involves finding and buying a compressor or blower that uses centrifugal technology. This unit must then be instrumented to measure vibration, flow rates, pressures, and temperatures at both the suction and discharge ends. This unit must be easily taken apart with replacement impellers and bearings available for purchase separately from the unit. The unit and subsequent impellers and bearings will be used in condition testing in the RIT Compressor Lab. These experiments will help to determine failure modes of centrifugal technology.
