Team Vision for Build & Test Prep Phase

For these phase the team is looking to create a prototype for initial testing and bring the prototype along with the fabric sample to the NICU in order to get feedback on the design as well as the look and feel of the fabric. We were able to get an initial prototype sewn as well as take the prototype and fabric samples to the NICU to gather feedback on the design from nurses and get feedback from parent and nurses on fabric and color preferences.

NICU Interviews

The team was at the NICU on January 25th to interview parents and nurses about their preferences for material feel and color.

Three materials were presented to the parents, a medium weight jersey (blue), a light weight knit (grey), and a medium weight rib knit (black). 2/3 of participants preferred the blue material, 1/3 preferred grey, and no participants selected the black material.

Most participants stated that neutral or gender neutral colors would be best. 4 participants explicitly stated that color does not matter and one male reported that we would not wear the device if it was pink.
