Vision for Build & Test Prep Phase

All parts of the Communication System that have been designed in MSD are to be assembled and tested in the upcoming months before the launch up to 100,000ft. The Communication must be rugged enough to keep in contact with the ground and relay its position to the APRS network.

The Communication board layout was finalized between the end of MSD I and the first week of MSD II.

Test Plan Summary

In the upcoming weeks, the main focus will be getting the communication board working on its own, and getting it ready to be integrated with the rest of the system. Because many of the subsystems are modeled after work done 2 years ago in P17104, much of the risk of the PCB has been minimized.

Below are the tests for the communication board's power and sensor circuitry, as well as tests for the APRS.

Risk and Problem Tracking

The main things still to be done for this phase are finalizing the design for the GRSS enable and Balloon cutdown enable. There are GPIOs on the Comm board that have been put to serve as a switch control.
