Our senior design project involves designing and prototyping a portable robot capable of transferring milled CNC parts to other surfaces after they are finished being cut. Currently, milled parts must be manually transferred off of CNC tables with a dedicated laborer. This is not ideal because dedicated operators are expensive and pose a safety risk if heavy lifting is required around machinery. This project will propose an automated, portable solution capable of being compatible with multiple CNC machines. The expected end result should be cheaper and more practical than both dedicated laborers and industrial robots of the same capabilities.
