Team Vision for System-Level Design Phase
Team goals for Phase 2 - System-Level design were to:- Create visuals for Function Decomposition to identify characteristics and components of the heat switch.
- Create a Transformation Diagram to identify the proper functions that need to be performed or are performed by the heat switch.
- Research other alternatives to replace components of the preexisting lab prototype.
- Create a Morphological Table to determine other possible combinations for concept selection.
- Brainstorm solutions for on how to determine the feasibility of certain concepts and current characteristics of the prototype.
- Benchmark current solenoid against other solenoids as well as motors and actuators.
- Benchmark current ratchet design against other designs to increase efficiency.
- Review NASA standards that need to be met by the heat switch.
- Discuss performing a bench mark test on the current solenoid at cryogenic temperatures.
- Update Risk Assessment with new found concerns with the design and applications of the project.
- Send customer Pre-Read and Presentation and change based on his feedback.
