Team Vision for Final Demo and Handoff

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and RIT shutdown, progress on the LASSO project was halted. However, we have completed documentation that should hopefully make it easy for the next team to pick up where we left off.

Risk and Problem Tracking

The primary problems and their current location on the problem tracking wheel are shown below. Poor time synchronization and low GPS time may require rearchitecture and redesign. The yellow problems have solutions and have not been fully implemented yet. We have successfully captured a satellite. The next question is how consistently we can do it.

Highlights of our risks: Due to the time synchronization error we've encountered during testing, the likelihood of several of our risks is high. TDoA, cross-correlation, and Orbit Determination are all likely wildly inaccurate. While we have good leads at Mees, Williamson, and GCC, we have not received complete confirmation. Because the box redesign was never built, we cannot verify if the design is indeed weatherproof. Without site surveys, we cannot confirm that all sites have a common strong reference signal.

To conclude our project, we will need to ship all of the hardware for the project to Martin Pepe. Anthony Iannuzzi will ship his parts in the mail and Luca will drive and deliver the bulk of the hardware to Marty's house.
