For an updated project description, click on the following link for the Project Readiness Package. Many local positioning systems currently exist for a variety of purposes from collision avoidance in autonomous robots and drones to data collection and user tracking in both government and public industries. Often, these systems rely on a beacon for absolute position and computation within the network. Our goal is to eliminate these beacons and provide a robust and affordable system for determining relative positioning in a mesh network in addition to efficient communication throughout the network. This task will be accomplished by focusing on software-defined radio and algorithms while minimizing the cost and size of required hardware to meet the expecations of small businesses and consumers. |
